How it works
Welcome! There are two ways to use this self-paced Readers' Advisory continuing education course:
1. You can pick and choose the lessons you want to complete. There are a total of 15 lessons to choose from, ranging from 30 minutes (.5 RR credit) to 2 hours (2.0 RR credit).
2. If you want to join The League of Extraordinary Readers' Advisory Librarians at the Tulsa City-County Library, you should complete all 15 lessons for a total of 10.5 hours of credit.
Lessons are organized under four major categories:
The final lesson is a Readers Advisory quiz.
You'll find the major lesson categories on the menu to the left. Many lessons require that you complete readings and activities. You are on the honor system. While you do not have to turn in any of these activities*, it is in your best interest to finish them -- i.e., the more thought you put into the lessons, the more Readers' Advisory skills, experience, and knowledge you will gain.
* However, if you DO want someone to look at your activities and make comments/marvel at your awesomeness, please send them to Ellen Nole in Adult Services.
Use the Completion Page to keep track of the activities you have finished -- when you are done, send this page to Ellen Nole in Adult Services for credit.
If you have any questions about the course itself, please contact Ellen Nole or Rebecca Harrison in Adult Services, both at the Central Library. If you have questions about your credits, please contact Gary Cathey.
